Kids of the Kokoda Track
In September 2012 David Pidcock and a group of clients (Peter & Karen May, Darrin & Ros Rackemann, Heather Valentine and Johnno Valentine) visited Papua New Guinea to walk the Kokoda Track. Along the way the group fell in love with the children living in the villages and saw all too often that they lacked the essentials in life that every child deserves – basic medical supplies, colouring pencils & paper, clothing and sports equipment. Back home, David, his fellow trekkers and the Elodus team set about garnering support from their clients, friends, family and local businesses to assemble care packages to send to the children.
With the wonderful support of clients as well as Browns Office Choice and Chemist Warehouse Toowoomba, they have pulled together these exciting packages which include note books and school work books, colouring pencils and markers, children’s clothing and blankets, soccer balls, musical instruments and basic first aid supplies. This will provide the kids along the Kokoda track with the basics needed to ensure they have fun, are comfortable and stay healthy.
A big ‘thank you’ goes out to everyone involved, including the staff at Elodus for the time and goods they have donated to these fantastic packs. They will make a huge difference in the lives of the children of the Kokoda Track.
